UNSCRIPTED. I sent out no.1 quietly. A small photograph printed at home on cardstock and cut by hand. A letter written in the evening hours in my bedroom, signed. The two items sealed together with a piece of decorative tape and placed in a brown envelope. On a brisk Friday morning, I held the 22 envelopes in my hands, feeling their weight. I slipped on my favorite green jacket, walked to the mailbox and let out a huge exhale as I dropped them in.

And so it began. Once a month I will write a letter, sign it and send it along with a print. This first round, I used a thick cardstock because I loved the look it gave - like a faded Polaroid. I’m leaving myself room to change up the envelopes, paper, and print sizes if I want to. I don’t know that I will, but I’m going to go with what moves me. The point of this project isn’t perfection. We don’t know what’s coming. We can’t always plan ahead - life is UNSCRIPTED. I want to allow room for change and have appreciation for what’s here now - and I want to do that with you. I want you to have the experience of opening something beautiful that was made with intention. I want you to feel connected. I want to put my heart and my art into the hands of folks ready and willing to receive it.
